The text of appearances Studio 11 asfa within the context of Open Studios of Platforms Project 2019 would like to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "The Text of Appearances" on Thursday 16 May 2019 at 19:00, responding to the workshop that takes place in Athens School of Fine Arts during April and May 2019 in studio11asfa.

The workshop "The text of appearances" is initiated and organized by the visual artists Maria Glyka and Dimitris Rentoumis with the participation of students of the Athens School of Fine arts at 11 Studio of Painting of ASFA.
Based on a fresh approach to the ideas of John Berger, the students are challenged to consider the use of text in artistic practice in order to explore the contextual and narrative potential of their own works. What happens when you look at an image without knowing its source? How does a sequence of images transcribe into narration? Can we create words about the void? How do these words connect us with our environment?
