Art Athina, the central annual contemporary art event of Greece returns for the 22nd time in a fully renovated form. Organized by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association (PSAT), it will take place at Faliro Pavilion (TaeKwonDo Stadium) from Friday 26 to Sunday 28, 2017.

Art Athina welcomes Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos as the newly appointed Artistic Director. Xenia Kalpaktsoglou participates as artistic advisor. The production of Art Athina is entrusted to Be Best company and production director is Yorgos Taxiarchopoulos. The new identity of Art Athina is designed by G Design Studio. Stavros Papagiannis is responsible for the architecture and design of the organization.

The basic structure of the fair is the following:

MAIN
The main exhibitors. Galleries from all over Greece and abroad present their artistic proposals.

HIGHLIGHT
The Highlight section hosts 20 international young galleries with exceptional program. 

FEATURE 
A section conceived and organized by an annually appointed curator.
This year's section will be curated by Myriam Ben Salah (b. 1985, Algiers) editor-in- chief of Kaleidoscope magazine and curator based in Paris. Ben Salah has been coordinating special projects and public programs at Palais de Tokyo since 2009, focusing especially on performance art, video and publishing initiatives.

VIDEO 
The video & screening program, conceived and presented by an annually appointed curator. This year the section will be curated by Alexander Burenkov (1987, Saint Petersburg), a curator, writer and art director based in Moscow. Alexander's field of research focuses on the young Russian art scene and international emergent art practices and trends. He has worked as curator with Moscow Polytechnic Museum, Strelka Institute of Media, Architecture and Design, the V-A-C Foundation and ISSMAG gallery.

SURVEY 
A group show featuring historical material borrowed from the main exhibitors of Art Athina, curated by Galini Notti.

This thematic unit also hosts Asking an installation by Katerina Zacharopoulou. Asking is produced in cooperation with NEON

PERFORMANCE 
The performance program featuring artists from the participating galleries.

TRIBUTE 
A tribute is paid to an artist or artistic institution. Art Athina 2017 commemorates Yiannis Kounellis– in cooperation with J. F. Costopoulos Foundation - and Dimitris Mytaras, in cooperation with the National Gallery- Alexandros Soutzos Museum.

DESIGN 
The design section of Art Athina.

TALKS 
Round tables, panels, discussions fueled from every section of Art Athina.

PUBLICATIONS 
Οmmu publishing house selects and brings to Art Athina zines, artists books, publications and ephemera along with a stage program incorporated in TALKS.

OPEN 
Τhe annual open air installation of Art Athina.

EDUCATION 
Educational workshop program addressed to kids. 
Along with the new structure of the fair, Art Athina has organized a newly designed two-tier VIP program, focused specially on the first choice international and local collectors and also young collectors for whom it has created a special program.
