OKAY initiative space invites you at the group show "Satelliting Groundfloor" that will open on November 23, 2023. It's an exhibition by Berlin based curators Pola van den Hövel and Marlene A. Schenk, who previously collaborated with the founder of OKAY, Stavros Kapetanios, at the Berlinere off-space, FKA SIX.

Four artists based in Berlin have been invited to showcase their unique perspectives in Greece, with their works characterized by the use of diverse materials and a playful engagement with their assumed identities. "Satelliting Groundfloor" showcases four practices that involve the meaning of persistently circulating around the execution and evolvement of their work, questioning and exaggerating material, meaning and representation constantly; it is showcasing practices in movement, never standing still.

Om Bori, a visual artist based in Berlin, presents an installative sculpture made of PVC filled with water. The artwork depicts the Havel River in its entirety, spanning over 300 km. Through the interaction with the water element, a vibrant and dynamic representation of the river's course unfolds.

Wolfgang Günther, an artist based in Berlin, showcases a painting on wood that seems to mimic canvas. Oscillating between figurative scenes and abstract compositions, his works invite viewers to immerse themselves in a world inspired by children's drawings and comics. The line between reality and imagination is fascinatingly blurred.

Frauke Alina Becker, a German artist residing in Berlin, allows us to experience the organic forms of nature through her works. Serving as metaphors for human coexistence and the delicate coexistence of nature and culture, her works focus on fundamental aspects of communal living such as touch, movement, proximity, and distance, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexity of human relationships.

Lisa Röing Baer, another German artist in Berlin, surprises this time with a departure from her usual analog photography. In her current work depicting the Berlin cityscape at Alexanderplatz, we explore an innovative approach that breaks the familiar mold.
