Rue des Fleurus was the home of Gertrude Stein in Paris, renowned as a gathering place for avant-garde artists and writers, such as Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Henri Matisse, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Paul Cézanne, who frequented its Saturday evening gatherings. It was a pivotal cultural hub that brought together the brightest artists, writers and thinker of the time, fostering creativity, collaboration, and intellectual exchange. In homage to Stein's groundbreaking influence, this exhibition invites viewers to immerse themselves in a vibrant exploration of the salon atmosphere and its enduring impact on artistic expression. The exhibition pays homage to Stein's legacy while reflecting on themes of identity, language, abstraction, and the avant-garde.
