In various languages, the term tissue refers both to textiles and to the body, encompassing epithelial, connective, muscular, and nervous layers. The English word derives from Old French tissu ('woven'), the past participle of tistre, from Latin texere—'to weave.' A tissue can describe a thin, transparent, and lightweight material, as well as a disposable Kleenex.

Laundry Station explores the relationship between anatomical tissues and textile fabrics, and the ways in which these two realms intertwine. Blending figurative elements that dissolve into abstraction, the drawings move toward the threshold between representation and ornamentation, echoing through mise en abyme the surface of printed fabric. In this shifting interplay, questions begin to surface: can fabric hold the imprint of a body? What patterns emerge, and where do they originate?
