BOOK LAUNCH AND TALK

Tonight, 27 November, 8:00pm Hyper Hypo invites you to the launch of They Asked Me to Design a House, I Asked Them to Design a Home: Beyond the Architectural House. Reflections and Exercises on Domestic Life edited by Ilaria Palmieri and Georgina Pantazopoulou (Common Ground Practice). The evening will include a conversation between the editors and Panos Dragonas, as well as readings by Anna Karampela.

Τhe book invites readers to reconsider the home as more than an architectural construct, approaching domesticity as a living and evolving experience shaped by memory, intimacy, and everyday rituals. Bringing together contributions from architects, designers, educators, and practitioners, it explores issues of dwelling, belonging, and shared living by framing the home as something felt, imagined, remembered, and continuously made.

THE TALK WILL BE HELD IN ENGLISH

Inherently tied to space, closely connected to the decorative, and attentive to hospitality, the book becomes a shared exercise in practicing domesticity.

The publication has been made possible with the support of the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and the Creative Industries Fund NL.
