Sanne de Wilde presents her series of work The Island of the Colorblind. In the late eighteenth century a catastrophic typhoon swept over Pingelap, a tiny atoll in the Pacific Ocean. One of the survivors, the king, carried the rare achromatopsia-gen that causes complete colorblindness. Achromatopsia is characterized by extreme light sensitivity, poor vision, and the complete inability to distinguish colors.
Clément Saccomani comes to NOOR with 15 years of international experience in the photography industry. NOOR is a collective uniting a select group of highly accomplished photojournalists and documentary storytellers focusing on contemporary global issues.
