Performance of The Avenirologic Hymns by Denis Maksimov/AVENIR INSTITUTE: 21:30
Dedication: An Exhibition of Paintings by Florent Frizet
Featuring a performance of The Avenirologic Hymns by Denis Maksimov/AVENIR INSTITUTE
Through a contemporary approach to abstraction, the works of Dedication render the tradition of figurative elegy endemic to Greco-Roman Antiquity and the Western Renaissance. Iconic images of the martyr, the rebel titan, the sacrificial body, are proffered through discreet traces of color. Figures emerge through suggestion, their praise resounding mysteriously.
“Dedicated to whom? To solitary figures, true heroes and combatants who, at a given moment, made irrevocable choices, radical in the face of an other, a father, a domineering god: a Martyr.”
The exhibition will be accompanied by a performance of The Avenirologic Hymns, critical contemporary prayers to the deities of roaming futures. The Hymns are the original work of Denis Maksimov/AVENIR INSTITUTE. (Performance at 21:30 precisely).
