Starting on the 1st of June, the group show 'Ferry House' will be hosted at the building constructed by the architect Aristomenis Provelegios, in the district of Kypseli / Kykladon street 8 (Atelier Cycladon 8).
The exhibition aims to bring together 16 artists and former colleagues at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) who, in all their diversity found a common ground in contemplation and expression. Their relationship, cultivated over the last 10 years in and out of the spatial context of the ASFA studios, played a vital role in structuring a complex dialogue, rich in micro-political narratives and exchange of ideas and practices. Having shaped their artistic identities under the climate of radical socio- political change, they now place themselves in this building, as passengers on a ship and contemporary Ishmaels, crossing the horizon at a point in time.
The exhibition offers ground for a broad range of artistic expression such as: Site-specific installations, sound and sculptural works, publications, performances and utterances inspired directly and indirectly by the specific character of a building.
