Stoa42 is back with its annual first days of the New Year exhibition. Since its opening in 2017, Stoa42 has always celebrated the beginning of the new year with a post celebrative show. This year Stoa42 presents Sofia Kouloukouri with the performarnce RE-PAIRS, a work about dating and car crashes.The artist creates a performance based on storytelling approaching dating online with cynicism and humor inviting us to immerse ourselves in her own personal universe.

Sofia Kouloukouri is an artist and performer living in Geneva. Through endurance and narration, her work deals with weights as a feminine heritage going back to the fundamental education of girls, myth, and the Christian doctrine. By way of her objects and performances the artist inserts herself in ‘grand narratives’, be that art history, or fundamental fictions like the Bible, and appropriates them. Voicing their opinions on art, life, and ‘couple politics’, her female characters claim a new space and order for themselves. Kouloukouri’s work is a performative exploration of fragility and solidity as vectors of female identities.

The performance will be followed by a dj set by Veil, aka Marina Legaki, editor of Blind Mind Editions. Blind Mind is based in Athens, Greece focusing on music, sound, drawing and text, esoteric landscapes and visions. A curated selection of zines and books will be presented.
