ABSTRACTICO is a series of screenings aimed at raising awareness of experimental animation. These works often push the boundaries of the fine arts, so the screenings will not be held in traditional ways or venues.
The first Abstractico event will take place at the Okay initiative Space. 9 experimental animated films will be screened.

Andriana Mila - Day after Day

"Day after day" is a thinking process about our lives and the way they pass in front of our eyes like a dream and a sweet memory. The video was an attempt to visualize the first part, a poem, of the artist's thesis, which referred to deeper thoughts and feelings during her studies in the city of florina. In the video, a reference is made to parts of the poem written by her. "life is meant to be a forgotten memory", as artist's personal belief, in a more poetic interpretation of the connection that memory has with our everyday life and dreams.

Chaerin Im - Eyes and Horns

The transformation of the over masculine minotaur, inspired by picasso's print series 'vollard suite', leads to the destruction of boundaries of sexes.
 
Katerina Magarini - The whale bus

Whale bus is a short episode, slice of life, of a post-apocalyptic athens, where the sea level has reached such a point that only the few highest points of the basin can now be seen. The episode explores the relationships of the creatures that now inhabit it,  showing how they navigate between the remaining islands, relying on sympoeitic systems.
