On the occasion of the exhibition Gestural Temples by Alexandru Chira, The Intermission invites
Angelo Plessas on a talk about the work of Alexandru Chira.
"How do Sacred Geometries operate in Nature? In this talk, I will explore the art of Alexandru Chira and its significance in our modern era, done during a challenging period in Romania. His legacy, a blend of techno-spiritual and environmental alchemy, whispers to us through visual gestures the mysteries of existence." - Angelo Plessas
Angelo Plessas lives and works between Athens and Kymi. His work explores the ambiguous approach of spirituality and technology by delving into a wide set of cosmologies, activating communal interconnectivity while exploring the semiotics of ancient and technological worlds. His work has been exhibited internationally, including the 13th Gwangju Biennale, South Korea; documenta 14, Kassel and Athens; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Jeu de Paume, Paris; DESTE Foundation; and the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens. Plessas is the founder of P.E.T. Projects in Athens, a Fulbright graduate and the recipient of the 2015 DESTE Award.
