A revealing dance by Karis Zidore
Slit Show cuts through the masquerade of the exterior and slides along the slits of the interior. It’s a tease for the space between curtain and coming. A dance for a theater and an open mouth. It’s an inner song longing to be seen.
With Slit Show choreographer and composer Karis Zidore investigates the (e)motions of
revealing and stripping down using body, mouth, voice and sound.
Who s that slit? It s the girl with no door on her mouth!
Slit Show is a series of processual showings as part of Karis Zidore’s residency and research at ERGO Collective and The Danish Institute in Athens in March 2024. With the performance’s thematic around revealing comes the need for an external gaze. Therefore, the public showings in ERGO Collective will function as part of Zidore’s investigation and occur at different stages of the research process. The public showings will be for various and limited number of audiences. Pre- booking a spot is therefore necessary.

With a fondness for teasing she makes choreographic pieces and soundscapes that want to slip out of the audience's hands and ears. Zidore is a co- founding member of the community and venue Danseatelier in Copenhagen. She’s the artistic director and curator of the ongoing curatorial research and festival, thecarrierbag festival, in collaboration with Emilia Gasiorek. With the moniker Gel Karis Zidore releases abrupt and inconsistent dance music.
